And at such a small percentage of total health care costs in the US – workers’ compensation is the tail, not the dawg. Medical costs now represent the majority of workers’ compensation costs. What happens in Washington DC, what happens to Medicare and Medicaid is important to workers’ compensation. Paduda will talk about the real-world impacts of Medicaid dis-enrollment, Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital programs, Merit based Incentive Payment Systems and their impact on health care – and workers’ compensation. Agree or disagree, no one argues that Paduda’s positions are not well researched and documented.
